Baby Appointment Updates

Dear Camryn,

We had your well-check appointment today with Dr. Day, and you received 2 new vaccines. Yep, 2 shots to the thighs....you hate those! :( You had another oral vaccine as well, those are a piece of cake.
Here are your new height/weight stats:
Height: 25 1/2" - 90th percentile. You are a LONG baby!! Taller than 90% of babies your age!
Weight: 13 lbs. 8 oz. - 45th percentile. LONG & SKINNY....that doesn't sound familiar at all, does it?! Haha You are definitely our kid, no doubt! :)
Head circumference: 40.5 centimeters - 50th percentile. Your Mommy had a big ol' fat head as a baby, so thank god you got Daddy's noggin!
Dr. Day was quite impressed with you, and loved hearing that you're rolling over, and really enjoyed watching you "scoot" (not quite a crawl) across the patient bed/table. You have great strength in your arms, legs, and neck, and you're a tummy-time and standing pro. Doc warned me that I wouldn't have long before I'm chasing you.....grreeeeeaaaat!

Exciting news.....

We pierced your ears!!!! YAY!!! You were squirming around, so I was a little nervous that our poor doctor might miss and pierce your nose on accident, but she's an ear piercing pro! You weren't terribly pleased with us poking you, but you didn't fuss much either. Dr. Day said you have one of the most tame cries she's heard. (you wailed when they gave you your shots though! Ha)

Here are the only 3 pics I have of your pierced ears so far....y'all know there will be a million more!

Yeah, I totally cheesed out! I was excited, what can I say?! :)

You're exhausted from our very eventful morning, and you've been napping for the last 2 hours, but I snuck a pic. I'll add more pictures after nap time! (you love to suck on your bottom lip, it's too cute!)

Love,
Mommy

"HalloWEEK" begins!

Dear Camryn,

Halloween is a week away, and you are playing dress-up already. Mommy can't help herself, there's just something addictive about dressing you up like a little doll, especially when you look so darn adorable in every outfit! I bought you a stuffed pumpkin and your doggies think it's for them, and they circle you like sharks when you play with it. You think it's pretty entertaining.
You've started standing while holding onto my fingers, and love pulling yourself up. You sit, pull yourself up to stand, and then sit after a minute or two, and then back up you go. Up, down, up, down....You do it for hours! You're also trying to sit on your own, but mostly you just topple over after a few seconds.
We took a walk tonight with Riley & (his Mommy) Jessica. It's so fun having them as neighbors and you two babies being only 6 weeks apart in age. We stood you both next to each other, and you're about 4+ inches taller. You're long!! We have a pedi appointment tomorrow, so we'll see just how long you are! I can't wait to see how much you weigh too, and how you measure up to other 4 1/2 month olds.

Rolling....

You made it!! Now to treat yourself, you eat your fist. What's new?!

Thank you Auntie Molly for the adorable "My auntie gives the best candy" outfit! :)

You & Riley were trying to hold hands! <3

Stats from the pediatrician visit coming soon!

Love you Little Miss Piggy,
Mommy

Austin Zoo

Dear Camryn,

Daddy & I took you to the Austin Zoo yesterday. The weather has been beautiful this weekend, and it was a perfect day to wander around looking at all the animals. The Austin Zoo is a rescue zoo that only adopts injured, abused, and neglected animals. There are turkeys, peacocks, and ducks wandering around the entire property, even in the fenced in areas with the lions, bears, and panther. If I were a turkey, I wouldn't want to be anywhere near the tigers....or any other animals that might want to eat me!!

You enjoyed the lions the most, probably because they are big and resemble our dogs the most. The monkeys were also really adorable, and we watched one play basketball (literally) by himself for over 5 minutes. One monkey ran in circles round his play yard, and as he passed the cage door he would turn and jump up into the air....don't ask me why. We thought he was pretty funny! :)

Here are some pictures from our fun weekend:

Mommy
